About
Liana Eirene Casanova
Liana Eirene Casanova – artist and jewelry maker – designs with an assortment of techniques, from beading and fabrication to handcrafting precious metal clay. Her inspired collections feature sterling silver, brass, 14K gold, 24K vermeil, precious/semi-precious gemstones, freshwater pearls, and Swarovski® crystals. Consummate buyers and collectors will note her jewelry style ranges from classic to fashion-forward pieces, often resulting in one-of-a-kind collectibles.
While in the Washington metropolitan area, Liana’s interest in jewelry design emerged when she took her first jewelry course at Marymount University – graduating summa cum laude from a college known for its design school. After relocating to the Dallas area, she broadened her skills with private jewelry courses, including learning fabrication/metalsmithing techniques from a talented local jeweler and precious metal clay artistry from a distinguished 2006 Saul Bell Design Award finalist.
Inspired by travels to the Southwest and Northwest United States as well as Rome and Istanbul, Liana prides herself on her individually designed and crafted jewelry, hand-selecting choice gemstones and material. Her design aesthetic is a distinctive fusion of the organic and the refined, catering to a confident woman of style. Liana’s collections are all personally crafted in her studio and not produced abroad, ensuring fair wage and practice.
Liana also holds an associate’s degree in business administration, graduating magna cum laude, and subsequently worked in financial positions for a global Big Four consulting firm and leading U.S. government information technology services contractor.
Adopted into an artists’ family at 3, Liana spent her formative years in southern California. Her adopted mother, a talented artist, holds an MFA from an Ivy League university and her adopted father, an emeritus professor of art, holds a Ph.D. in Fine Arts and is an award-winning sculptor. His works are in prestigious collections, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum in New York, the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum, and the American Academy in Rome.
Liana’s creativity is also inspired by her favorite artist Georgia O’Keeffe, who once stated: "Making your unknown known is the most important thing."
